Longtime regional representative helps drive mission in Oklahoma and beyond
Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever are proud to announce Laura McIver as a recipient of the Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Foundation’s Conservation Heritage Award at the recent Call of the Wild Gala. McIver, Oklahoma and Southern Kansas regional representative, co-founded the Central Oklahoma Quail Forever Chapter in 2005 and served as the chapter president for five years.
Her dedication to upland habitat and conservation earned her national recognition as one of six finalists for Field & Stream’s Heroes of Conservation, as well as honors including Rookie of the Year, the Membership Award (2015), and the NBCI Fire Bird Conservation Award (2017). She has also appeared on outdoor television programs such as The Flush (Outdoor Channel), Outdoor Oklahoma and Safari Hunter’s Journal with Steve Scott.
She has been with Quail Forever since 2014 and has started 38 chapters, helped to create and expand wildlife biologist positions in her region and empowered local chapters to invest over one million dollars into habitat projects.
McIver is a lifelong advocate for the outdoors, with passions spanning hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, backpacking, and conservation. Her experiences living across the United States—including Alaska, Montana, Kentucky and Oregon—have given her a deep appreciation for diverse landscapes and wildlife.
Join us in congratulating Laura McIver on her stellar conservation and outreach work. She continues to serve as an outstanding representative of Pheasants and Quail Forever’s mission.
